After a few days of leveling up.
Red approaches Alexis with the detecting bowl in his hand.
“Alexis, this device I made is now not as useful as it once was. I have been pondering what to do with it.
Detecting something else is an option, of course. You have been asking about detecting scrying.
Now that we have the orb I would suggest you let me use it. It shouldn’t be too hard to align this bowl to be able to detect if we are being scryed on… time and material permitting of course.
But if you have some other ideas for what to detect with this bowl, let me know”
“If the bowl can be made to detect scrying continuously, that would be very helpful. If that’s possible, how long will it take?”
“The bowl would be a bad candidate for a permanent spell like you suggest. The bowl is a focus, something to higten or intensify an effect.
From the little I have gathered scrying is on a person. To detect if a single person was being scryed on would require a item for each person.
But to know for sure I would need to actually act, to understand the magic.
But as for time I would say a week of scrying study. A week or two to study blocking scrying. Then a week per device to permanently detect scrying. Plus a lot of materials.”
“My hope would be an item with a substantial radius. But per-person is also good. Just let me know.”
