After the group has finished fighting the Ogres and moved back the way they’ve come.
“At the end of this series of monsters there could be some amazing treasure!” Alexis looks back the way towards the Ogres and beyond noticeably wistful. “With that protection, the working would surely be amazing.”
Alexis keeps walking but looks back a couple more times.
“A true treasure hunter! We have missed so much. That one room is not worth fretting over. Think of all the depths unplumbed in the Lost City. All the spots we passed in the westlands. All the oceans with tasty crustaceans that we didn’t eat.
The world is treasure.
Let’s focus on the one big jewel we are heading towards.”
Alexis laughs quietly and looks back one more time.
“You’re right.” He faces forward. “And you’re not wrong that whatever’s back there isn’t ordinary.” He tips his hat brim briefly, almost to himself. “But the Tear will be the biggest score any of of us has seen until now. Everything else can wait.”
