Looking In Your Crystal Ball

“My apologies Alexis, I am just wondering if you have learned anything from gazing at the crystal ball that would serve us in our next move against the traps in the Mountain or perhaps our enemies and allies?”

“And perhaps… if you would be willing at some point to look in upon the refugees from Thater? I am curious about their fate… Alikimo’s as well… It is not pressing of course, and if it would put you in danger…. I would never ask that… but… if it’s not too much trouble…”

About Rask

Rask Fellmar of Thater that Was. Rask was born in the small village of Thater, not far from East Pass Fort in Aegir. He never knew his father, a Raidensblud or at least a solider in the Aegirian army. His mother made a household with another man, and Rask gained a half-brother and several Fellmar cousins. Rask ran away and joined the Aegrian army as soon as he could. After seeing far more brutality and evil than he ever imagined, his home is gone, he is a deserter twice over, and he is an exceptionally well-trained warrior.

  1. Alexis smiles at Rask, and it reaches his eyes.

“Since we got here I haven’t had the chance. But I’ve been keeping a list.” He taps his temple. “Alikimo is near the top. Nineteen names, and he’s near the top.”

He glances down at the Ring of the Spider on his finger. Doesn’t touch it.

“Looking through the ball has its costs. I’m going to be careful about when and how.” A beat. “But when this rest is done, I’ll find him. For you and for me both.”
