Of Tears and Rain

In a moment of rest after entering Nodden Tor, Rask address Alexis and the rest of the group, but mostly Alexis.

“What IS a Tear of Avv? More than the rain that falls on our crops, shepherded by Oo-rin?

“Sheyeeni said her true boss had two? Hadonis said some Nalcir tribesmen betrayed him and may still hold it?”

About Rask

Rask Fellmar of Thater that Was. Rask was born in the small village of Thater, not far from East Pass Fort in Aegir. He never knew his father, a Raidensblud or at least a solider in the Aegirian army. His mother made a household with another man, and Rask gained a half-brother and several Fellmar cousins. Rask ran away and joined the Aegrian army as soon as he could. After seeing far more brutality and evil than he ever imagined, his home is gone, he is a deserter twice over, and he is an exceptionally well-trained warrior.

  1. Alexis is writing notes in his book. He looks up from it when Rask asks his question. As Rask talks Alexis brings out a silver coin and walks it across his knuckles.

“The tears were lost for so long, few people know what the tears actually do. Unfortunately the people who know the best, aren’t available for us to ask. The Collegium is too far away. We’re not going to ask Sheyeeni’s boss. I suspect the Raidensblud might have some knowledge of the tears, but we can’t really ask them.” Alexis shrugs and waits to see if Rask has a follow-up while the coin continues to walk.

  2. Rask nods appreciatively.

“The farmers spoke of the rain as Her Tears, but this is clearly more… Let’s pray Raiden guides us when the time comes.”

“What of the Nalcir? It is hard for me to believe that Westlanders would be able to wield and hold such an object. But, if we are to fight them for the Tear, do you have any idea what I should be prepared for?”

    • “I am prepared to talk to them and see what sort of deal we can make. Hopefully they hate the Dark Hand as much as most everybody else.”
