Do All Cities Stink? Does Aegier Even Have Sewers?

Inside the confines of the Mithril Lord’s estate, not long after after Gus brings up feeling uncomfortable in Sutheron, Rask asks in Gus’s direction but to everyone:

“What’s Aegier-Aegier, yah know Aegier-city like? Does it smell like a battle, a brothel, a well-used latrine, a garbage dump, and fish harvest… all at once, but worse, too?”

He wrinkles his nose, and pauses for a moment.

“Are there Temples to Raiden there?” He asks disbelief.

His eyes widen, his mind realing, he look more seriously at Gus and Ca’armine. Raiden is a god of battle and protection, and… Aegir…

About Rask

Rask Fellmar of Thater that Was. Rask was born in the small village of Thater, not far from East Pass Fort in Aegir. He never knew his father, a Raidensblud or at least a solider in the Aegirian army. His mother made a household with another man, and Rask gained a half-brother and several Fellmar cousins. Rask ran away and joined the Aegrian army as soon as he could. After seeing far more brutality and evil than he ever imagined, his home is gone, he is a deserter twice over, and he is an exceptionally well-trained killer.

  1. As Rask is describing the smells, Alexis nods slightly, but noticeably, when “well-used latrine” and “garbage dump” are mentioned in relation to Aegir city.

  2. Gus looks up from wittling some wood.

“I would say Ethelred is more experienced about the details of Aegir city. I tended to stay away as I am more comfortable in small towns outside of towns altogether. It is however a more comfortable place than Sutheron. At least you sometimes see familiar faces. It is made of wood and mud rather than stone which is a good thing.

It smells like dirt, and then mud in the rainy season. Not sure about temples of Raiden. I wasn’t much for them.”
