After leaving the mine Ethelred can’t stop thinking about all the materials they found in the old Copper Hills mine. He is still confused as to why some materials were allowed to be taken, gems, copper, pix ax heads, broken handles. But other materials were off limits, rope, hooks, shovels, pix axes.
Ethelred brings up his confusion to the group.
“If we need more rope to capture the Giant, where should we go to get it?”
Alexis looks at Ethelred with quizzical a half-smile “We’re being hunted by four strangers, who are willing to kill you to get to me, and you’re asking where the nearest rope shop is? You’ve got a problem, my friend.”
“we must plan for the future. These men are a distraction. We must deal with them only because the pose a threat to our mission here. I am on the path of the peacemaker.
What path are you on?”
“You’re right, Red. We shouldn’t be distracted from what’s important. We’re both on the path, and need to stay focused. Good point.” Alexis starts talking with Ethelred about the plans for the ballista.
