Allies?

Telosh reels from his third draught of of gnollbrew…

The flames from the campfire seem to lick to the sky, spirits seem to writhe and dance off the coals and sparking to the sky, other spirits or shadows dance around the outside of the fire…away from the fire, everything else looks gray and cold and far away…the fire is everything.  And the flind is everything.  He grows and becomes a giant.  His spirit could crush Telosh or any of his companions and the humans are insignificant in the face of this demon that has walked this world for eons…he has died so many times…and every pain, loss, cut and blow has added to the powerful being that now towers over the treasure hunters.

Yet Telosh, perhaps by association with the others, perhaps through the Grace of Tylin, is regarded as somehow worthy by it, this massive being whose powerful spirit seems to be woven into the very fabric of this world in a way that seems far more permanent than Telosh or any of the team.

The gnolls sit amongst the group around the fire and they always seem to be laughing whenever Telosh focuses on them, but even they seem transfixed by the giant and the massive fire that dominates the world now.

Telosh signals or perhaps speaks, to Alexis somewhat confusedly,

“Allies? New friends? Help us with the Hammer and Crown? The Hammer would help us break The Sword again…”

About Rask

Rask Fellmar of Thater that Was. Rask was born in the small village of Thater, not far from East Pass Fort in Aegir. He never knew his father, a Raidensblud or at least a solider in the Aegirian army. His mother made a household with another man, and Rask gained a half-brother and several Fellmar cousins. Rask ran away and joined the Aegrian army as soon as he could. After seeing far more brutality and evil than he ever imagined, his home is gone, he is a deserter twice over, and he is an exceptionally well-trained killer.

  1. Alexis looks between the scary looking creatures, and then shrugs in response to Telosh.

“They gave us some good information about an object of power. This could be the Sword Chaotic. This could be Ishtar’s Blade.” Alexis says a little lazily.

“Still trying to think about peacemakers… and not-goblins in the dark. The Lady. Ladies? The wolf. Wolves? Magubliet. The weeping god. When was the sword broken before? Why? Why reforged. What other relics might be with the sword? What about…” Alexis drifts off briefly

  2. “Peacemakers… sounds like Tylin… Her rune on the stone near the path of the peacemakers… and on the wall protecting the eyes…”

Telosh digs in his pouch for his (third) TyLin coin…

    “We follow their path…”

“We accepted the boon… but need the Hammer first… why not work together, we could use the help… better than smooth cheeks…”

Telosh clutches the coin in his hand, the rune of TyLin still only lightly scratched into it.

    “TyLin…”

    • Alexis’ eyes get big for a moment. “You did it. Somehow you found a way to make it about Ty-Lin. Incredible. Unintelligible, but still incredible. Glad to see Gus finally unclenched.”

Alexis seems to go back to his previous musings “The Crown and Hammer of the Uzbad-Nar? The Made Crown and Algin’s Hammer?… Ooooo… the Crown of the Atân, although it was said to have been taken to Ederos. Man, Ederos. Ederos!”

  3. “Peacemakers…” Telosh mumbles and shakes his head, no longer speaking to anyone in particular “the path led from one rune to another… the same rune… from one rune of TyLin to another rune of TyLin… Path of the Peacemakers…”

Telosh drifts off into a silent reverie,

“Dead god…” Telosh shudders some indeterminant amount of time later…
